Volunteer with the Center for Sierra Nevada Conservation!
Thank you for supporting our work! There are many ways to donate to our cause, and volunteering your time puts you on the front line of our restoration projects. We invite you to volunteer with us and see what we are doing to improve the condition of the Eldorado National Forest. We could not complete all of our restoration projects without our volunteers and the hard work that they put in! Join us for a day in nature and help heal the Eldorado National Forest.

What are the time requirements of volunteering for an event?
We meet around 9am in Placerville and carpool to our restoration site. Depending on the size of the site, the amount of work that is required, and the number of volunteers we have, we are generally back in Placerville around 3-5pm.
Can my group volunteer?
Of course! While we are a friendly group, it is always nice to have some familiar faces attend with you. Bring your best friend, spouse, or your co-workers for a day in the Eldorado forest!
Do I need to bring any tools or equipment?
If you have any personal tools (rakes, shovels, etc), you are more than welcome to bring them along. We try our best to provide all of the equipment that will be needed, but it is better to have too much equipment than not enough.
What else should I bring with me?
Bring a lunch, water bottle, sunscreen, bug spray, and weather appropriate clothing (wide-brimmed hat, long pants, and long sleeve shirts). We often provide snacks for our volunteers at the end of the day.
Can I receive community service credit for school?
We are currently in the process of becoming a pre-approved non-profit organization with local high schools. Bring your signature paper with you and we will be happy to sign off for you at the end of the work day.
What are the physical requirements of volunteers?
Volunteers may require periods of physical stress, including but not limited to standing, raking, digging, lifting, and carrying up to 40 pounds. We have volunteers of all ages and have tasks for every physical ability!
I can’t make any of the volunteer days, but I want to come help. What can I do?
Please reach out to us! We will do all we can to find a day that would work for you to join us for a restoration project.
If you have any other questions, please do not hesitate to contact Kaitlin at 530-206-7061 or Kaitlin@sierranevadaconservation.org. We look forward to having you join our volunteer team!
