CSNC staff and volunteers labored in the Sopiago watershed and Pi-Pi Valley areas over the past few weeks to block several unauthorized vehicle routes that are directly impacting sensitive resources on the Eldorado National Forest. On Wednesday, June 1st, we restored multiple sites, including “hill climbs” that are eroding soil into Sopiago Creek. On Thursday, June 9th we repaired additional steep hill climbs in Pi-Pi Valley.
We have some upcoming dates that should be on your calendar! On Saturday, July 9th we will be heading to a higher elevation location in order to beat the heat for another restoration event. Stay tuned for more details. September 16th is another date to save for our annual Volunteer Appreciation Dinner at Spanky’s Pizza in Placerville! This is the time that CSNC gets to thank our volunteers with a hearty dinner and a great evening.
